About Me:
I grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and have been a lifelong UofM fan (go blue!) I went to undergrad at Washington University in St. Louis where I majored in biology with a minor in chemistry. I went to medical school at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, a distinct 5-year program within Case Western focused on training future physician investigators. I also pursued a master’s degree in clinical research during my time in Cleveland, for which I studied the influence of immunophenotype and patient demographics on the clinical manifestations and severity of Neurofibromatosis Type 1. Clinically, I have had a longstanding interest in pediatric hematology/oncology, though I also really enjoyed my recent NICU and PICU rotations. In my free time, you can find me playing recreational sports (volleyball, tennis, spikeball, and pickleball are particular faves), hiking, trying out a new board game, or spending time with my friends and family. I couples-matched with my soon-to-be husband, Joe, who will be starting his internal medicine residency. We are so excited to explore Ann Arbor together!
Why Michigan?
When looking into pediatric residency programs, I knew I wanted to train at a large, stand-alone children’s hospital with a strong academic presence, outstanding clinical training, and opportunities to continue pursuing research. In addition to these qualities, Michigan has a warm, welcoming, midwestern feel that will help me thrive throughout residency!
