Our aim is to develop compassionate and skilled pediatricians who seek lifelong learning, practice exemplary patient-centered care, encourage diversity in perspectives, and provide leadership in all areas of healthcare to transform the lives of children and their communities.
Meeting our goal
- Our residents are represented on the Department of Pediatrics Faculty Recruitment Oversight Committee, which aims to implement new processes for recruitment and advancement that are specifically targeted to improve the diversity and inclusion of trainees, staff, and faculty in the department of Pediatrics by requiring fair and transparent hiring.
- We support departmental and residency program (leadership and residents) attendance at Student National Medical Association and Latino Medical Student Association annual conferences.
- Black Medical Association Pathways to Pediatrics Program is an AAP supported program partnering current Black medical students with pediatric residents and faculty for mentoring and career exploration.
- Medical students can participate in the institutional Health Equity Visiting Clerkship experiences for fourth-year medical students.
