Pediatric Dialysis Unit

  • One of only three pediatric dialysis units in Michigan
  • Dedicated pediatric unit with 6 outpatient chairs and 2 inpatient rooms
  • Average 14 chronic hemodialysis patients per month
  • Average 10 chronic peritoneal dialysis patients per month
  • 523 CRRT days for 42 patients in academic year 2019-2020

Pediatric Renal Transplant Program

  • 125 renal transplant patients followed by division
  • Average 15.6 new transplant evaluations per year over past five years
  • Average 11 new transplant per year over past five years
  • Charter member of the Improving Renal Outcomes Collaborative (IROC)

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

  • 30 bed state-of-the art unit providing care to a wide range of critically ill children
  • National reputation for expert care in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) 
  • Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) program for children with acute kidney injury is one of the most experienced in the country

Pediatric Cardiothoracic Unit

  • 20 bed unit that provides care for patients with a full spectrum of cardiovascular disease
  • The congenital cardiac surgery program is considered one of the highest-volume programs in the nation

Holden Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

  • Level IV NICU facility with 52 private rooms
  • Regional referral center for advanced neonatal therapies including ECMO, high-frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, and coordination of complex care

Outpatient Pediatric Nephrology Clinics

  • Diverse patient population from broad geographic referral area
  • General care pediatric nephrology clinics and specialty clinics
    • Interdisciplinary systemic inflammation clinic (with pediatric rheumatology)
