Clinical Care
We have a very active and enthusiastic clinical faculty and serve patients from across the state of Michigan, as well as neighboring states and across the country. We provide Pediatric Rheumatology Services in the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital Pediatric Subspecialties Clinic, Northville Health Center, and at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Pediatric Rheumatology specialists at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital offer a range of services to treat and study childhood autoimmune and musculoskeletal diseases such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, and juvenile dermatomyositis, as well as serving as a diagnostic and referral center for children with complex medical conditions involving the immune system. Research
Pediatric Rheumatology faculty members are active in research in a variety of Pediatric Rheumatologic disorders, including Lupus, Antiphospholipid Syndrome, Juvenile Myositis, and PFAPA (Periodic Fever, Aphthous stomatitis, Pharyngitis, and Adenitis). We also perform collaborative research nationally through the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) and the Pediatric Rheumatology Care & Outcomes Improvement Network (PR-COIN).
Education
The Pediatric Rheumatology Division maintains a very active teaching role within Pediatrics and the Medical School, providing education to students, residents, fellows, and practicing clinicians across the state and nationally. The Division as an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship training program, one of only 26 in the country.
