About Me:
Hi everyone! I am beyond excited to be on this journey of becoming a pediatrician! I was raised in Rochester Hills, MI and moved to Ann Abor to get my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience (I know… it’s a mouthful). I also spent my gap year at the University of Michigan, working in the Koschmann Lab, which studies precision medicine and targeted therapies for pediatric High-Grade Glioma (HGG) and Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). I then attended medical school at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. These experiences fueled my love for clinical medicine, translational science, and medical education. I am a proud Syrian American, and I can confirm that my mom’s cooking is the best in the world. I am also a certified yoga teacher, cat mom (to the best/cutest cat ever: Dobby), young-adult fantasy reading nerd, and huge fan of cringy rom-coms. My friends and family are the most important things to me, and I would not be where I am today without them!
Why Michigan?
Ann Arbor has always felt like home to me, and to be able to come back to pursue the career of my dreams is surreal. This program offers the amazing opportunity to work in a high-volume, high-acuity children’s hospital with a diverse patient population. Also, the attitudes regrading resident wellness and support are incredible!
