Biography

Dr. Tareen is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and works as a Transplant and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist at Michigan Medicine. She graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She later completed her Adult Psychiatry residency training at the Cleveland Clinic followed by a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Brigham and Women's Hospital where she subspecialized in transplant and perinatal psychiatry.

Dr. Tareen's interests in education have involved serving on the consultation-liaison fellowship evaluation committee at Michigan Medicine, the interdisciplinary education subcommittee within the national Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and participation in community events to increase mental health awareness. She also values DEI initiatives and serves on the Advancing Inclusive Leadership committee at Michigan Medicine. Through the American Psychiatric Association and American Medical Associations she remains engaged in advocacy efforts.
