Connor Knowles, M.D.

Resident
Class of 2026

Biography

I'm a native Michigander and am proud of being a first-generation U-M graduate, and the first doctor in my family.  When it was time to decide on a place for residency training, I knew of the opportunities and more importantly the compassionate care provided by the people who make up Michigan Medicine. People here have a unique pride in caring for our communities. My path to psychiatry was non-traditional, having done a year of training in another specialty. What drew me ultimately to this path was a desire to spend more time with each patient, learn about patients' unique stories, and form longitudinal and therapeutic relationships. What drew me most to our program was the support and kindness that was palpable from everyone I've interacted with who actively highlight the strengths and unique qualities of each resident, which has fostered a supportive and unique training and clinical environment. Additionally, the breadth of clinical care at U-M allows for endless collaboration with other specialties and care settings.
