The application window is open from July 15th through September 1. There are two positions available.
We are recruiting applicants from the specialties of Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Due to the nature of the current program and the various locations of the clinics, we do not offer rotations to individuals from outside of the University of Michigan Sports Medicine Fellowship program at this time.
Applicants must be ACGME board eligible or certified in Family Practice and residency-trained in family medicine, to be certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, or be scheduled to take the board certification examination in July of the coming year, and have a significant commitment to a teaching and/or research career in sports medicine. International medical graduates must possess a J-1 Visa to enter the program. Fellows will be appointed at the appropriate postgraduate level consistent with previous experience and training, and receive a stipend and benefits consistent with the level of appointment. The University of Michigan is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer and specifically invites minorities and female candidates to apply.
The fellowship program participates with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) under the supervision of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM). Interested applicants may apply to ERAS using the MyERAS application requested from the AMSSM. The program subscribes to all application, interviewing and match list deadlines specified by the NRMP. Inquiries and requests for information can be directed to the Fellowship Recruitment Office.
