Fundraising event benefits Pediatric Rehabilitation

Lincoln Park High School's DECA chapter partnered with Lincoln Park High School's Student Council to plan and execute a charity campaign that challenged the Lincoln Park community, grades K-12 and all of their families to bring in donations for Pediatric Rehabilitation at the University of Michigan.

The month-long fundraising campaign came to a close with a charity football game that encouraged fans and foes to give generously. The event raised over $11,000; exact final numbers are currently being confirmed by the LPPS teachers as donations are still trickling in. The students met and surpassed their goal for an amazing cause while learning to event plan, market, sell, and manage various-sized teams. The money raised will be used for the annual family costume party at the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, supporting patient/family education, and our inpatient rehabilitation service. Dr. Alecia Daunter accepted the gift on behalf of the Pediatric Rehabilitation Program.
