Ph.D. Program

Welcome to the Ph.D. Graduate Program in Molecular and Integrative Physiology (MIP), one of 14 graduate programs affiliated with the Program of Biomedical Sciences (PIBS) at the University of Michigan. The Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology has a rich tradition of providing the highest quality academic and research training in a warm and friendly environment. We are exceptionally proud of our present group of students and of the successes of our former students. The vast majority of our over 250 PhD graduates enjoy highly successful careers and leadership roles in a variety of diverse careers in academia, industry, government, education, administration.

Some points cannot be emphasized enough – our graduate students are a tremendously important aspect of the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology. Each student is unique and has something special to offer and educational opportunities are tailored to the individual. Student input in departmental functions and policy making within the PhD program is sought and highly valued. This not only helps to vitalize, enrich and diversify the Program, it also promotes professional development and leadership skills in our students.

Once again, welcome!
