Michigan Medicine Ranked First in the Nation for Ear, Nose & Throat by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News and World Report annually judges hospitals for its Best Hospitals list by rating high-quality patient care, commitment to patient safety, clinical resources, family centeredness and other measures. For 2018-19, the University of Michigan’s hospitals were ranked number 5 in the nation, putting it on the Honor Roll, and number one in Michigan.

A hospital's overall Ear, Nose & Throat score is based on various data categories, including volume of high-risk patients, nurse staffing and patient’s survival. U.S. News provides information about 184 hospitals in Ear, Nose & Throat; ranking the 50 top-scoring hospitals. For 2018-2019, the University of Michigan’s hospitals ranked number 1 in the nation for Ear, Nose & Throat with a score of 100/100.
