Summary: We will discuss the process of using theory and evidence to develop or select and tailor implementation strategies. We will include a description of the Implementation Mapping approach and highlight how this and other approaches can help inform important aspects of implementation strategy development and evaluation including: community and stakeholder engagement, considerations of equity, use of theories and frameworks for implementation strategy decision-making, and using logic models for informing implementation research questions. We will also discuss how this method represents a proactive approach to specifying form and function of implementation strategies.
