Biography
Brent is in his second year of the PharmD program. His interests are in the field of applied pharmacogenetics. His current goal is to work in academia and lead psychiatric pharmacogenetic research. His ultimate goal is to work in precision pharmacotherapy, which is an integral part of precision health. There are many aspects to precision pharmacotherapy that he believes will further public health and as healthcare advances, it will become more tailored to the person. Genomics, metabolomics, proteomics, and the influence of the microbiota are possibilities for truly individualized medicine. Brent feels the precision health certificate program will help advance his goal by continuing his education surrounding genetics, research in pharmacogenetics, and ethical issues surrounding the field.
