Katie Matton, B.S.E.

Graduate Student Research Assistant


Katie is master's student in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at the University of Michigan. She works in the Computational Human Analysis and Integration (CHAI) lab under the direction of Dr. Emily Mower Provost. Her research is focused on using machine learning and natural language processing techniques to detect mania and depression in individuals with bipolar disorder using speech data. She is motivated by the prospect of aiding in the creation of unobtrusive patient wellness monitoring systems. Katie received her B.S.E. in computer science and engineering from the University of Michigan in 2018.
