Biography
Alex Kingsley is a Research Area Specialist Associate at Michigan Medicine. He joined the MM Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research team in July 2023 after graduating from Alma College with a B.S. in neuroscience as well as healthcare administration. During his time at Alma College, Alex gained experience as a volunteer research assistant for the SPEARS research team - exploring coping and bereavement outcomes in a U.S. college student sample. Additionally, Alex conducted an independent study during his time at Alma College on the neuropsychological impact of traumatic brain injury on emotion - focusing on emotional dysregulation following concussion. In the future, he intends to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience and plans on studying the neural mechanisms underlying psychological and behavioral disorders, as well as working to reduce health disparities while promoting health equity.
