Biography

Dr. Liao completed his Ph.D. at East China Normal University in Shanghai, China, in 2012. He then pursued postdoctoral training at Tulane University in New Orleans, under the guidance of Dr. Hua Lu, focusing on p53 regulation in tumor cells from January 2013 to July 2018. Following that, he continued his postdoctoral training as a research fellow at Dr. Weiping Zou's lab, where he studied cancer immunology, at the University of Michigan from August 2018 to January 2023. In January 2023, Dr. Liao joined the University of Michigan as a research investigator.

Dr. Liao's research interests revolve around investigating the regulatory mechanisms of fatty acids and amino acids in immune cell subsets and cancer cells within the tumor microenvironment. His work aims to unravel the roles of these metabolic pathways and identify potential therapeutic targets for cancer treatment.
