Who We Are

Pediatric Surgery at Michigan Medicine

The Section of Pediatric Surgery is a leader in providing advanced pediatric surgical care. Our highly skilled physicians are some of the finest in the country, allowing us to provide specialized care for a wide range of conditions. We conduct cutting edge research in the field of pediatric surgery, from minimally invasive surgical techniques to trauma and critical care, to find the best possible treatment solutions for our patients.

Patients visit us from all over the country to seek treatment from our faculty in Michigan Medicine's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, designed for the comfort of our patients and their loved ones.

Alumni

Remember the past and build the future by becoming an active member of the alumni community of the University of Michigan Section of Pediatric Surgery.

Alumni are our friends, our colleagues, and our mentors, and your support of Michigan Pediatric Surgery allows us to continue improving care for children everywhere.

The legacy of Pediatric Surgery at Michigan is advanced by the work that each of you do. In just one recent example of the strength of our community, pediatric surgery fellows honored Daniel H. Teitelbaum, M.D., shortly before his death in 2016 with the Section on Surgery American Academy of Pediatrics Salzberg Award in recognition of his teaching and mentoring.

We encourage alumni to stay in touch with us by joining us at national conferences, visiting us at Michigan Medicine to see what’s new, and sharing your ideas and knowledge through our clinical and research networks.
