Biography

Dr. Benjamin Cornwall earned his DDS from the University of Michigan in 1978 and then went into private practice, during which time he was on active staff at Sinai Hospital in Detroit with the General Practice Residency program. He started teaching part-time at the University of Michigan after eighteen years of private practice. He took a full time position with University of Detroit Mercy and was the director of the Detroit Receiving Hospital clinic for six years. Dr. Cornwall was appointed active staff at St. John Riverview Hospital in Detroit as a faculty member of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program while at the University of Detroit Mercy. He has also been on active staff at Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Cornwall became the assistant director of the Hospital Dentistry General Practice Residency program at University of Michigan in 2006 and then the University of Michigan Hospital Dentistry General Practice Residency program director in 2012. He became the the Chief of Hospital Dentistry in 2014.
