Dr. Ernst, who is Assistant Professor of OBGYN, will lead a multi-disciplinary team over the next two years as they evaluate “Reproductive Healthcare Services for Adolescents and Women with Disabilities in Ethiopia.” IRWG established the Faculty Seed Grant program in 1996 to support disciplinary and interdisciplinary faculty projects on women, gender and sexuality.

In addition to Dr. Ernst, the investigative team is comprised of UM faculty Dr. Clair Kalpakjian (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation); Drs. Lia Tedesse Gebremedhin, Elisabeth Quint, and Vanessa Dalton (OBGYN); as well as Dr. Judy Simms-Cendan (University of Central Florida); and Dr. Feiruz Surer Awcash (St. Paul’s Millennium Hospital Medical College, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia).  Partners in Ethiopia include St. Paul’s and the Ethiopia Center for Disability and Development.
