Dr. Van Epps' research is currently focused on life threatening infections, including his collaboration through the Michigan Medicine-Peking University Health Science Center Joint Institute which is exploring the use of a novel rapid PCR assay to detect bacteria in whole blood without culture using ultrasensitive nanorod technology.
