Biography

Yilei Cui is an Assistant Research Scientist at the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology. Dr. Cui's research focuses on the molecular basis of chronological aging and photoaging, the regulation of dermal extracellular matrix (ECM) homeostasis, and the role of epidermal and stromal interactions in promoting skin tumorigenesis. Her research interests include cutaneous aging, dermal fibroblast function, skin disorder pathophysiology, cancer immunity in the skin, and the impact of natural compounds on skin aging inflammation, and skin pain. Also, Dr. Cui is interested in biomarker discovery and validation for clinical and translational studies related to healthy aging.

Dr. Cui received her PhD in Physiology from East China Normal University and postdoctoral research training in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Michigan. She joined the Skin Aging and Photobiology Translational Research Program in the Department of Dermatology in 2010.
