Biography

Dr. Bonita Mathai is Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Michigan Medicine. She is a board-certified dermatologist and provides medical dermatology diagnosis and treatment to patients of all ages in our medical dermatology outpatient clinics. Dr. Mathai has interests in contact dermatitis, general medical dermatology, and resident and medical student teaching. She leads our Patch Testing Clinic at our Domino’s Farms Dermatology clinic location.

Dr. Mathai received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Following graduation, she completed her transitional year internship at St. John's Hospital and her dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Mathai held dermatology faculty appointments at the University of California Los Angeles, followed by the University of California San Diego, prior to joining the clinical faculty of the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology in 2023.
