The Ultrasound Guided Vascular Access class will involve a short didactic presentation covering basic anatomy, contraindications and adverse results involved in central venous access. Learners will then participate in hands-on demonstration of aseptic protocol and proper practice techniques using actual central line kits, SonoSite iLook ultrasound machines and the Blue Phantom ultrasound simulator models. Participants will have the opportunity to practice and develop the psychomotor skills required for ultrasound guided central venous access and PICC line placement. This is NOT a certification course.
