2018-2019 CSC Research Grant Recipients Selected

Three research projects that apply best practices in simulation-based medical education were recently chosen to receive this year's Clinical Simulation Center (CSC) Research Grants.

The awards, of up to $15,000 per project, were given to the following recipients:

 1. Dee Fenner MD, Payton Schmidt MD, Pam Fairchild, MD, Deborah Rooney, PhD, Project titled, “The Fundamentals of Vaginal Surgery: Developing a Simulation-Based Vaginal Surgical Skills Training Program”

 2. Brendan W. Munzer, MD, Michael Cover, MD, Deborah Rooney, PhD, Project titled, “Novel Central Venous Access Simulator using a Low-Cost, Sustainable Model”

 3. Elizabeth Putnam MBBS, Laura Lehrian, DO; Lauryn Rochlen, MD; Kelcey J. Stratton, Ph.D., Lara Zisblatt, EdD, Project titled “A Simulation Intervention to Prepare Residents for the Emotional Impact of Practice”
