Areas of Interest

My laboratory is centrally interested in understanding how the ER quality control process in cells is exploited by viruses (polyomavirus, papillomavirus, Dengue/Zika viruses) to cause infection. We are also interested in clarifying how this quality control pathway can be used to rectify the protein-folding problem that is at the basis of various human diseases, such as diabetes.
