Biography

Dr. Ken Hassler was born and raised in New York. He attended undergrad at the State University of New York at New Paltz, where he majored in Biochemistry. He attended medical school at New York Institute of Technology - College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Creighton University Phoenix at Maricopa Medical Center. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. During cardiothoracic residency at the Mayo Clinic, he was awarded the O.T. Clagett Traveling Fellowship award and studied with Dr. Gebrine El Khoury in Brussels, Belgium. His research and clinical interests include aortic valve repair, valve-sparing procedures, and the Ross procedure. Additional areas of interest include general adult cardiac and adult congenital heart disease.

Hobbies
Dr. Hassler enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, exercising, and playing sports, usually ice hockey. He also loves to snowboard, surf, golf, and camp/hike/backpack. Additionally, he is an avid sports fan of the NY Islanders and NY Mets.
