Medical School offers “Mini Med School” on surgery

Series of six weekly lectures on “Updates in Surgery” begins April 12

Registration is open for the 16th annual session of the popular public education series, Mini Med School, which features six weekly lectures by prominent University of Michigan physicians. This year’s series, “Updates in Surgery,” begins April 12.

Speakers include specialists in minimally invasive surgery, prostate cancer, and robotic surgery, female urology, orthopedic arthroscopic surgery, otology hearing surgery, and ocular surgeries.  All practice at the University of Michigan Health System.  

Each Tuesday at 7 p.m., attendees will hear from a different speaker in the Kahn Auditorium of the A. Alfred Taubman Biomedical Science Research Building (http://campusinfo.umich.edu/campusmap/509), at the corner of Ann St. and Zina Pitcher Place in Ann Arbor. Free parking is available.

Attendees must register in advance; space is limited. Tuition, which includes reading material and refreshments at each session, is $80 for those under age 65 and $60 for those over 65 and for U-M employees.
