Sleep Clinic and Labs

Our Center includes a number of general and specialized sleep disorder clinics and laboratories.  The Michael S. Aldrich Sleep Disorders Laboratory is where many of the overnight sleep studies take place and where many of our clinics are held.  The University of Michigan Sleep Disorders Laboratory at the KMS Building on South State Street is a second location for sleep studies.  A third facility at Domino’s Farms offers sleep clinic visits as well as overnight studies.  We recognize that coming to a strange place to sleep can be difficult.  Our specialized sleep technologists are highly experienced and help to make the testing process comfortable. The University of Michigan also offers home sleep apnea testing under appropriate circumstances.  When you are evaluated in our clinic, we can determine whether home testing may be an option for you to consider. Our laboratories use standard guidelines published by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, but beyond that we offer some specialized approaches not found at many other programs. Beyond just testing for sleep disorders, we also work with patients to ensure that treatments are effective. We follow up with patients regularly over time, in situations where primary care physicians may not be familiar with sleep disorders or prefer that a specialist be involved in the long-term care of the sleep disorder.
