Drs. Meredith Morgan and Daniel Wahl received a two-year award from Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to support their collaborative efforts to improve outcomes for DIPG, an aggressive pediatric brain cancer. The Wahl and Morgan labs have found that DIPG tumors use a specific type of DNA damage response to protect themselves against radiation and are now using drugs that block this response to improve radiation efficacy. They hope these laboratory studies will lead to clinical trials for this aggressive cancer.
