CT Screenings for lung cancer are cost-effective

In 2011, results of a large National Lung Screening Trial found a 20% reduction in lung cancer deaths when people at high risk underwent CT screenings. The findings suggested the potential to detect lung cancer early in heavy smokers who face a high risk of contracting the disease.
