MCCIST

The Michigan Collaborative Care Implementation Support Team (MCCIST) promotes the adoption of the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM), a highly evidence-based model of

integrated behavioral health care that treats behavioral health conditions. CoCM utilizes scarce specialty psychiatric resources to deliver high-quality, effective, whole-person behavioral health care from the convenience of the primary care setting. In this model, a behavioral health care manager and psychiatric consultant join the treatment team to provide ongoing monitoring, evidence-based interventions, and expert treatment recommendations that are actively adjusted until patients get better.

MCCIST has developed expertise in providing clinical training, technical assistance, and tailored approaches to successfully implement and sustain CoCM services. MCCIST partners with health systems to provide individualized consultation and specialized training, ensuring the model is implemented with fidelity and produces successful patient and process outcomes.
