Biography

Ajeé Witherspoon is a Limited Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LLMSW) who joined Michigan Medicine in 2022 after working as a Behavioral Health Clinician in a school-based setting. As a Behavioral Health Clinician, Ajeé provided mental health counseling, crisis intervention, individual/group therapy, substance use prevention, nutrition education, and suicide prevention services. Ajeé was also part of the crisis response team following the Oxford School shooting and providing services to the students and staff until her departure. Ajeé is part of the Care Management program in Ambulatory Psychiatry working primarily with children and adolescents. Ajeé assists with resource finding, tangible needs, and clinic coordination, and will also provide therapy to a small caseload, often using clinical interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat mood and anxiety disorders.

Credentials

Ajeé received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development & Family Studies in 2016 from Michigan State University. She also minored in Women’s Studies and LGBT+ Studies. In 2021, Ajeé graduated from Madonna University, where she received her Master of Social Work and chose a clinical concentration, a specialization in Mental Health, and an elective course load in Community Engagement.
