Highlights from the Prechter Bipolar Disorder Learning Community

The Prechter Bipolar Disorder Learning Community Celebrates Two Years!

The BDLC celebrates 2 years!

The Bipolar Disorder Learning Community (BDLC) recently celebrated two years of collaboration, driven by our shared commitment to improving care for people living with BD.

The BDLC launched in August 2022 as a multi-stakeholder team dedicated to improving care for people with bipolar disorder diagnoses. Our a group of about 15 researchers, clinicians, people with lived experience, family members, data scientists, and program managers that is co-led by Alexandra Vinson, Ph.D., and Claudia Diaz-Byrd, MSc.

Our Key Initiatives:

  • Developing a Wellbeing Scale that can help individuals with BD track their personal wellness. (If you participated in our pilot test of this survey, thank you!)
  • Compiling a resource list, which is publicly available online
  • Developing a Peer Support Group for individuals with bipolar disorder

As the Prechter Program continues to grow, the BDLC will be a central hub for integrating clinical data, research findings, and lived experience to improve health outcomes for people living with bipolar disorder.
