Biography

Dr. Sally Young is the current medical director of the inpatient rehabilitation facility at Michigan Medicine and Chelsea Hospital. She has been board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 1996. Dr. Young attended medical school at Wayne State University and completed her residency at Johns Hopkins University. After residency, Dr. Young was an attending physician at Michigan Medicine in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department, where she worked on the inpatient unit, subacute rehab, and the spinal cord injury program. Dr. Young then went to work with a group practice in the Grand Blanc area, where she again worked in the inpatient unit, subacute, and general outpatient. In 2003, Dr. Young opened her solo practice, where she did consults in the acute hospital, subacute rehab, and outpatient work. In 2013, she worked part-time at Chelsea Hospital while maintaining her private practice. Dr. Young did a short stint in 2021 with a start-up company to promote rehabilitation in the nursing home setting.

Her current clinical responsibilities will be caring for patients in Michigan Medicine inpatient rehabilitation facilities at Michigan Medicine and Chelsea Hospital. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Medical Association.
