About Me:
I'm a daughter of Pakistani immigrants born and raised in the metro Detroit area with a forever love for the beautiful state of Michigan. I went to Michigan for undergrad (Go Blue!), where I majored in public policy. Before starting med school at Wayne State in Detroit, I spent a year teaching second graders at an elementary school while also working on a state representative campaign in my hometown. In my free time, I love to read, go on runs, travel, volunteer in the community, and spend time with my friends and family.
Why I chose Michigan:
I was looking for a program with emphasis on community engagement, strong categorical programs, and a diverse patient population, and Michigan had all that PLUS being so close to home! As a lifelong Wolverine, I'm so excited to be going back hoMe at such an incredible Med-Peds program, with a hospital system that I've been familiar with all of my life. Plus, the other residents all seem so fun and great and I'm excited to join the family.
