Program: Combined Pediatrics - Genetics
Medical School: University of Michigan Medical School

About Me:
Hey, I'm Mark. I went to the University of Michigan for undergrad where I majored in biophysics and became interested in studying protein evolution and function. I similarly completed an MD PhD at Michigan, and in my thesis work I used directed evolution to tailor the function of therapeutically relevant enzymes. I continue at Michigan for the trifecta, a residency in the combined pediatrics-medical genetics program. Clinically, I have a special interest in inborn errors of immunity. Research-ly, I like all things protein. These days I entertain myself through music, growing fruit trees, and doing whatever else is in season around Ann Arbor.

Why I chose Michigan?
I am, at this point, somewhat familiar with the Michigan system. When I applied to residency programs I was most interested in joining a large, friendly institution where I could thrive personally and maybe even do a little research; goals that I felt were best matched here.
