Medical School: Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science

About Me:
Hello! My name is Kate. I was adopted from China at 17 months and grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where most of my family lives. I attended the University of Michigan for undergrad where I studied biochemistry and loved volunteering at Mott Children’s with Child Life. I then moved to the greater Chicago area for medical school at Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. Clinically, I am interested in pediatric hematology/oncology, with a specific interest in neuro-oncology. Outside of the hospital, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching my favorite sitcoms and stand-up comedians, and trying all the mac and cheese in town.

Why I chose Michigan:
The University of Michigan has felt like home for many years, starting in high school when I attended the Michigan Math and Science Scholars program, followed by undergrad. I returned to complete a Neuro-Oncology away rotation and had a phenomenal experience. I have always received nothing but the utmost support from doctors and educators here.
