About Me:
I was born and raised in Plymouth, Michigan, and I am the youngest of four siblings. I have one older sister who is a nurse and another older sister who is a PA. I went to Michigan State University where I pursued a degree in Microbiology before continuing to the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine for my medical studies (go green!). I grew up in a family full of avid Michigan fans who are very excited to see me finally become a Michigan Wolverine! Prior to medical school, I gained valuable experience as a medical scribe at both Sparrow and Michigan Medicine, fostering my passion for patient care. I am thrilled to return to Michigan Medicine now as a resident in the best specialty that there is! I love pediatrics because of all the amazing things that you can learn from children and the fun environment they create. I have a passion for both community outreach/community service and global health and spent time in the Dominican Republic and Malawi, Africa, during my medical school journey. Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and hanging out with my golden retriever :)
Why I chose Michigan:
It's been my dream to return to U of M for residency after working there as a medical scribe and seeing what an amazing hospital system it is! I have always been blown away by the amount of knowledge and support that has poured out from everyone I have met at Michigan Medicine. During my interview, I was truly impressed by how welcoming everyone was and how comfortable everyone made me feel in a process that can feel very daunting at times. I believe that here at U of M, you are truly set up for success and are surrounded by the best teachers and mentors. I am eager to embark on this next chapter of my medical career and am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to further my medical education under the guidance of such an amazing team.
