About Me:
Hi! My name is Avery, and I was born in Philly and raised in Chicago (go Cubs!). I studied mathematics, Spanish, and psychology at Washington University in St. Louis for undergrad and stayed in St. Louis for a few years after graduation as an admissions officer. I later moved back home to Chicago to pursue medicine at Loyola University. Though I didn't know what type of medicine I wanted to pursue at the beginning of medical school, I instantly fell in love with pediatrics during my third-year rotations. Outside of medicine, I love to dance, play with my dog, and cook with my fiancé. We could not be more excited about this next adventure!
Why I chose Michigan:
Aside from the incredible training and resources, I chose University of Michigan for the people. Everyone I encountered on my interview day was so down-to-earth, curious, and kind, and I felt like I'd known them for years. I cannot wait to join such a wonderful community!
