Program: Combined Medicine and Pediatrics
Medical School: Baylor College of Medicine

About Me:
I grew up in Sugar Land, TX, just outside of Houston. I attended Case Western where I studied biochemistry and developed an interest in health policy and advocacy after working to improve medicine affordability and accessibility with a student-led organization. I came back home to attend medical school at Baylor College of Medicine where I developed a passion for caring for adolescents and young adults and fell in love with Med-Peds as a specialty. After my third year, I took a year off and moved to French Canada (Montréal) to get my Masters in Public Policy at McGill. While I do not know exactly the direction of my career, I hope to combine my interests in clinical practice and public policy. In my free time, I enjoy playing the violin, running and hiking, and trying new foods.
Why Michigan:
I chose Michigan for its equally strong Medicine and Pediatrics programs, unique training opportunities that would allow me to explore my research and policy interests, and the genuine kindness of the faculty and residents I met on interview day. I was particularly struck by the program's unique mission to train physician leaders that can help make medicine more equitable and just. Time and time again I heard stellar things about the culture at UofM from mentors and faculty, helping me feel confident about choosing Michigan Med-Peds as the place to spend my next four years. And, of course, having Ann Arbor's great outdoors at my fingertips is an added bonus!
