Though I was born in Western Massachusetts I moved to Southern Maine when I was in third grade. I grew up in a chaotic household with a twin brother, two older sisters and 24 dogs (not a joke). I completed my undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering at Boston University, where I first started conducting biomechanics research in orthopaedic surgery in a cross-disciplinary lab associated with the Boston Red Sox and Major League Baseball. Following undergraduate studies, I spent two years as a biomedical engineer and clinical research fellow in orthopaedic surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA before beginning medical school. Upon graduating from The Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, I was awarded the Sylvia and Gilbert Nurick Medical Achievement Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence in addition to earning distinctions in research, and orthopaedic surgery. I enjoy going to the gym, playing basketball, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends. I am currently undecided about my future career plans in orthopaedics.
