Steven A. Goldstein, Ph.D. Collegiate Professorship Fund

This professorship honors Steven Goldstein’s many contributions to the department as a physician and mentor. Funds will support innovative projects in the orthopaedic research lab, and will help recruit and retain world-class faculty members

Name a Research Partnership - $150,000
Provide support over a three year period for the research of team of promising young faculty. These rising stars have tremendous potential to impact the future of musculoskeletal care. Their potential can only be realized with seed money to pilot their new idea research.

Endow an Orthopaedic Research Fund - $250,000 or more
Named for you or someone you wish to honor, an endowed research fund would forever connect this name with University of Michigan Orthopaedic Surgery. Annually, a distribution of approximately $12,500 would be awarded to support promising musculoskeletal research.

Endow a Professorship - $1,000,000 - $2,500,000
Named for you or someone you wish to honor, an endowed Professorship would forever connect this name with University of Michigan Orthopaedic Surgery. The professorship would allow the department to recruit or retain an outstanding faculty member. Annually, a distribution from earnings of approximately 4.5% of the principal would support the research of the faculty member honored with this professorship.

Support for Education

Fund the Purchase of iPads for Orthopaedic Residents - $8,000
A gift of this amount would allow us to provide each member of a class of eight orthopaedic residents with an iPad loaded with required software to enable residents to have immediate access to orthopaedic texts, journals and other resources.

Fund an Orthopaedic Resident’s Research Study - $10,000
One of the strengths of the residency program is the opportunity to participate in clinical and basic science research. A gift of $10,000 makes it possible for an orthopaedic resident to conduct a truly exceptional research project, and potentially furthering his or her career.

Endow an Orthopaedic Resident Education Fund - $100,000 or more
Named for you or someone you wish to honor, an endowed resident education fund would forever connect this name with University of Michigan Orthopaedic Surgery. Annually, a distribution from earnings of approximately $2,500 (equal to about 5% of the fund’s principal) would become available for resident education support. As the corpus grows over time, so does the distribution.

Endow a Professorship - $1,000,000 - $2,500,000
Named for you or someone you wish to honor, an endowed Professorship would forever connect this name with University of Michigan Orthopaedic Surgery. The professorship would allow the department to recruit or retain an outstanding faculty member.
