Alexandra Offerman is a Nurse Practitioner at Michigan Medicine, working in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She completed her undergraduate education at The University of Michigan, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Alexandra began her nursing career in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Michigan Medicine, working with a wide variety of patients. During this time, her clinical interests included working with the orthopaedic population.
While employed as a nurse, she completed her Masters of Science, graduating with highest honors, at The University of Michigan School of Nursing. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of Michigan, accredited through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Alexandra joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Michigan Medicine in 2014 as a member of the Joint Reconstructive Service. She transitioned her role to the Inpatient Advanced Practice Professional for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2019. In this position, she works in collaboration with 6 department services including Orthopaedic Trauma, Oncology, Spine, Sports, Foot & Ankle, and Hand. Her responsibilities include providing inpatient care to a wide variety of Orthopaedic surgery inpatients, generating and maintaining inpatient census, inpatient rounding, coordination of care with residents, fellows, and consulting physicians, actively participating in the discharge process and monitoring discharge turnover, and participating in quality and patient safety initiatives that impact inpatient care.
