One of the longest-running ophthalmology conferences in the country, our annual Spring Conference provides a comprehensive and focused medical and surgical update for the subspecialist, ophthalmologist, and ophthalmologist-in-training. This conference will cover current topics in the field of retina relevant to comprehensive ophthalmologists as well as other subspecialists in ophthalmology including medical and surgical retina specialists. The overarching theme will be innovation in medical and surgical retina and program will focus on new and emerging treatments and diagnostic techniques that the conference audience can implement in their daily ophthalmology practice.
Speakers will discuss new developments in the diagnosis and treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), including recent FDA approval of the first drug targeting dry AMD and late-stage pharmaceutical pipeline for dry and wet AMD treatment. Gene therapy approaches to the treatment of AMD, diabetic eye disease, as well as inherited retinal degenerations (IRDs) will be highlighted. Diagnosis and treatment of patients with IRDs will be discussed. Several panel discussions will be included in the program for moderator and audience led questions.
