Education

The Neurology Department provides education across the spectrum of learners. We have shadowing opportunities in outpatient clinics for interested University of Michigan undergraduates. The neuroscience sequence in the Scientific Trunk covers normal anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, as well as common neurologic disorders. Clinical Trunk students complete a four-week required neurology clerkship. Electives on the inpatient neurology consultation service and in outpatient subspecialty clinics are available for Branch students. We have an ACGME-accredited neurology residency program with six residents in each year, offer a broad range of post-residency fellowship programs in all the major clinical subspecialties, and provide post-residency research training opportunities under the auspices of two NIH-funded T32 training grants.
