Parkinson's/Movement Disorders

The University of Michigan Movement Disorders group, among the largest and most accomplished in the nation, is home to one of the few NIH-supported flagship Morris K. Udall Centers of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease Research. We care for a large group of patients with Parkinson’s and related movement disorders, using both established and experimental drug and surgical therapies. This care includes a shared program with the department of Neurosurgery, Surgical Therapies Improving Movement (“STIM”), which employs deep brain stimulation therapy for the treatment of Parkinson’s, tremor and dystonia.
