Carol Elias elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science

Every year the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) elects a number of scientists and engineers for “scientifically or socially distinguished efforts to advance science or its applications".  This year the AAAS elected 489 newly elected fellows.  Eight University of Michigan faculty members have been elected, including a faculty member in the Department of Molecular & Integrative Physiology:

Carol Elias (Professor of Molecular & Integrative Physiology) has been elected for her distinguished contributions to the field of reproductive and metabolic physiology, particularly for elucidating the mechanisms that couple metabolism to the neuroendocrine control of reproduction.
