Biography

Gloria Carmona Clavijo is a Senior Research Specialist in the Department of Learning Health Systems. Her research is currently focused on mixed methods of health research and decision making in health systems. She is passionate about improving health care systems and the ethical practice of health research and medicine. She received her master’s degree in Public Health from Universidade Federal Fluminense do Rio de Janeiro and her specialization in mixed methods of health research from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium. Prior to joining the Department of Learning Health Sciences, Gloria worked for the Peruvian National Institute of Health.

Research and scholarly interests: Bioethics, Health policy, transparency and public trust in health systems, social medicine, health education.

Subject-matter expertise: qualitative and mixed methods, knowledge translation, community based-participatory approach, scientific evidence for health decision-making
