Thank you for your interest in the Michigan Medicine Division of Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Training Program. Due to the continuing advances in basic biomedical research and clinical therapeutic, Hematology and Medical Oncology is one of the most dynamic subspecialties in Internal Medicine.
Our combined Hematology and Oncology 3-year Fellowship Training Program is designed to prepare our fellows to be creative and productive contributors as both cutting-edge researchers and astute clinicians combining well-rounded clinical training with the opportunities to work with world-class investigators in a collegial environment.
The program features a diversified patient care experience on busy hematology and oncology inpatient services, inpatient and outpatient experiences with our bone marrow transplantation program, inpatient hematology and oncology consultation services, as well as time in our outpatient clinics at the Michigan Medicine Rogel Cancer Center and the nearby Veterans Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System.
Fellows are very much at the center of our clinical investigation activities, which include single and multi-institution protocols sponsored by the Michigan Medicine Rogel Cancer Center, the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), NRG Oncology, ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group, the Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration (SARC), and the Chicago Phase II Consortium, just to name a few.
We pride ourselves in training highly accomplished physicians who are able to competitively seek employment in academic, government, and private practice settings. This is reflected in our placement of graduates – please see Our Graduates page. Our fellows also successfully compete for extramural trainee awards, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award (YIA), the American Society of Hematology Clinical Research Training Institute (CRTI), as well as numerous other extramural awards.
Again, thank you for your interest. Please take a look through what our program has to offer and let us know if we can answer any questions.
