Founded in the early 1940s, the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology supports a long tradition of excellence in health care education and research. Through the productivity of our research laboratories, the renown of our faculty, and the success of our trainees both in academic medicine and in clinical practice, the reputation of the division's fellowship and training programs have been firmly established. We also contribute significantly to the training and education of residents and medical students, and health care providers in our surrounding communities.
Fellowship and Training Programs
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology offers a three-year Gastroenterology Fellowship Training Program, designed to prepare fellows for successful careers in academic medicine, with three specialized tracks to meet individual’s interests and career goals. Conferences and Lectures
Our division holds regularly scheduled conferences with the majority being available for physicians to earn CME credit. The University of Michigan Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. As an accredited CME provider, the Medical School can designate AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for university activities that meet ACCME requirements.
